To become an art appraiser, you should have an interest in learning about different types of art through out history. You’ll also need to pay attention to details and be good at research to help people understand how much their art is worth.

What Qualification does an Art Appraiser Need?

Qualifications for an art auctioneer typically require a combination of education, training, and practical experience. Most aspiring art auctioneers begin with a bachelor’s degree in fields like fine art or art history. They move on to specialised auctioneer training programs or apprenticeships to help them develop the practical skills necessary for conducting successful auctions. Being good at public speaking and communication is crucial, as auctioneers engage with diverse audiences. Staying updated on art market trends, artist histories, and art valuation techniques is essential, given the international nature of the art market.
