The objective of this short course (8mins), is to teach you why you stretch paper, how to stretch paper and how to stretch paper with a whole class when you can’t all fit near the sinks in your room.

Once you have watched the professional development, you will be able to download a certificate that includes your name, the name of the course, and the duration to evidence PD hours. Although the video is 8 minutes long, the duration/PD hours on the certificate is 1 hour to allow you time to complete the tasks within and consider how you will integrate what you have learnt into your teaching.

Texas Educators (CPE): The Arty Teacher is an approved Continuing Professional Education (CPE) provider in Texas. If you wish to claim Texas CPE credit for this course, please read the Texas CPE Information document which is included with the course. This explains the additional requirements for verification, including completion of the practical tasks and submission of evidence.

This course is ideal if you are new to teaching or if you have never had the opportunity to learn this skill.

Materials Required: A board, paper and gum tape.

Sarah Crowther – The Arty Teacher

I set up The Arty Teacher because I have a passion for my subject that I want to share with other art teachers around the world.

I have been a high school art teacher for over 20 years, so I understand what it’s like to be in front of a class of students, often with very different abilities and attitudes.

I wanted to develop resources that would help teachers to bring out the best in every student in every class. I also wanted to free-up staff from time-consuming lesson preparation to let them focus instead on delivering exciting, motivating, dynamic lessons, supported by excellent resources.
