This five-page ‘Colour Theory Distance Learning’ project teaches students about colour theory. Three tasks introduce them to primary, secondary, tertiary, harmonious or analogous colours and complementary colours. There are versions for the UK and US with the different spellings of colour/color and use of harmonious/analogous. The tasks include:
- Making a colourful page with the definitions for primary, secondary and tertiary colours.
- Creating a page where a hand design is shaded with 3 harmonious/analogous colours and the background is shaded with 3 different harmonious/analogous colours. Warm and cool colours are introduced so these colours contrast.
- Creating a design using keys as a template and using complementary colours.
I am allowing 8 lessons for this home learning project.
I will be using this in conjunction with the free colour theory page on this website. Again, there is a UK and US version of this page.
This colour theory distance learning download is one of many distance learning resources on The Arty Teacher website.
